Who are you and what the hell have you done with Neome Collection? If you’ve followed us for a quite a while or even from the very beginning, you’ll know that ANDFOUR STUDIO is the result of a brand glow up in April 2022. If you’re new here, we first started business back in 2021 as Neome Collection. If you’ve ever wondered how we first came about, then sit comfy and let me tell you all about it.

Having been in a Marketing career for almost 10 years, it had been a long-standing dream of mine to create my own brand, but I could just never decide ‘what’ that brand would be. Over the years, I’d had so many ideas but, you know what it’s like, life is so busy that dreams often get pushed to the bottom of the pile. It was during lockdown number-who-bloody-knows that the idea for Neome Collection started. Me and my boyfriend were in the midst of renovating our first house which had sparked a passion for home décor and, being furloughed, I suddenly had a lot of time for soul searching.

Knowing exactly what I am like (forgetful, preoccupied, indecisive af), I decided to take the idea and run absolutely with it before I lost any momentum. Down went the paint brushes, the laptop was opened and I did what I do best – create a brand and marketing strategy. The only thing that stopped me was the name. I was stumped. As indecisive as ever, I spent weeks deliberating and head scratching over the name, this was no good, I knew my furloughed life wasn’t forever so I decided to just completely and utterly wing it.

In the end, my inspiration for the brand’s name was all the weird ways people misspelt my name (Naomi) on invoices while renovating the house. Yep, a slightly odd concept when I look back at it. After playing around with letters, I decided I liked Neome the most and, just like that, it was stuck. I must admit it, I never really loved that name. Knowing it wasn’t the best, I told myself to just to go ahead with starting the business and, if it ever gained traction, I could rebrand it to something more professional.

After three months of coffee-induced late nights, I’d built my first ever website from scratch as a total novice. One of my proudest moments to date, but it was no easy feat. I had barely a penny to my name when I first started the business, so there was no option for web technicians or graphic designers, it was a case of rolling my sleeves up and learning to do it myself. At some points, I’d thought I’d bitten off more than I could chew, not only was the website a huge task but the preparation of product shoots, packaging, printed materials, sourcing stock, it was endless and I felt like the to do list got bigger by the day.

After drumming up a bit of pre-interest on Instagram, I launched Neome Collection in January 2021. I was working on my website up until the very last hour before it went live and, I shit you not, I had the clammiest hands I think I’ve ever had. I still, to this day, do not know how I managed it, but it all went live swimmingly and to my disbelief the orders started to roll in within minutes. I’d bloody done it. I cried a lot of happy tears that day!

Never in my wildest dreams did I think Neome Collection would grow so quickly. Six months in, I was 10k followers on Instagram and often up into the early hours of the night. By that point, and to the dismay of my poor boyfriend, the house was quite literally bursting at the seams with stock, packaging and all the other stuff you don’t realise you need before you start up. So, the decision to build the business’ first premises was made, in the form of a custom studio set with stock room, packing area, photography studio and office.

Not only was the business growing, but the brand itself was also evolving. It took a lot of finding my feet, and trial and error. In fact, the whole thing tested me in more ways imaginable. Not only was I working on finding my brand identity, I was also finding my own. Since I’d launched the business I’d grown significantly as a person, I had this new-found confidence in myself and I was thoroughly enjoying the stronger person I was starting to become.

So with that new fire behind me, I spent the next six months working tirelessly behind the scenes to create a brand look that was much more…me. Yes and, you guessed it, this time around I was determined to think up a brand name that had significant meaning!

A bunch of dried flowers

ANDFOUR STUDIO – damn, I thought long and hard on this one. From the very beginning, when I launched Neome Collection, the products and branding had a connection to nature, in fact, the first collection I ever launched was named Mother Nature, which was our first range of dried flowers. I wanted to run this theme through the brand’s name in a very abstract way. I found myself at roots, tree roots…

And four was taken from a number I hold very dear to me, one hundred and four. It represents the very roots of where the business first began. Meaning that, now it’s moved and wherever it goes in the future, the brand always holds a piece of its home. The word studio naturally followed, as that’s what I was in the middle of building for the business. I was fortunate enough to have the means to do things properly this time. I brought a graphic designer onto the project to take the lead on making my rebrand a gorgeous, professional looking reality and a web company was employed to improve the website and help implement the new branding.

After over seven long, hard months of rebrand planning, sourcing new products, forging new relationships with suppliers all over the world, decorating the new studio, re-printing all marketing materials and reshooting imagery for the website, ANDFOUR STUDIO went live on the 29th April 2022 – a week before my 30th birthday, which felt incredibly poignant. I’m still not sure how I managed it, alongside running Neome Collection, working full-time at my day job (in fact, being made redundant, interviewing and finding a new one), and taking on our second renovation project… but it’s done and I am absolutely chuffed to bits with it.

I think you’re going to really love what’s in store for ANDFOUR STUDIO this year. I’m sure you’ve noticed more product lines being introduced in the lead up to the rebrand and what I have lined up to come next is all so incredibly beautiful. Keep your eyes peeled on our Instagram page, this is where I’ll be sharing all the very latest newness, though bear in mind that Zuckerburg is making things incredibly difficult for us small businesses to reach you on the ‘gram at the moment. So if you’re a fan of what we do, please kindly keep engaging with our posts and we won’t disappear from your feed. There’s also a new feature where you can add pages to your ‘favourites’ feed, meaning you’ll see us a bit more too.

Anyway, it’s 1:35am and I feel like I’ve written a short novel rather than a blog post, so if you’ve made it to the end then *genuine nods of appreciation* for you – you the best! Goodnight x
